A major prize for outstanding authorship

The Inner Temple Book Prize is a triennial competition with two Prizes, one of £12,000 and one of £5,000.

The Book Prize was inaugurated in 2008 to mark the Inn’s long-standing commitment to legal scholarship and the education of law students and of lawyers in practice. The Prize attracts entries from every part of the globe, and has already become one of the highest honours that legal authorship can aspire to.

The Inn is offering two main prizes. The winner of the Main Prize will be awarded £12,000 and each of the other shortlisted candidates £500. The winner of the New Authors Prize will receive £5,000 and any other short-listed candidates £300.

The New Authors Prize is open to entrants who, at the date of publication, are within 10 years of being awarded a first degree, or of being admitted as a practising lawyer (whether in any part of the United Kingdom or elsewhere) whichever period is shorter.
