It is with much regret that we report that Master Hamilton (Nigel Hamilton QC) sadly died on Monday 20 September, aged 83. The Inn’s flag is flying at half-mast today, Tuesday 12 October, in his memory.

Master Hamilton was called to the Bar in 1965 and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1981. He was a door tenant at New Bailey Chambers in Liverpool. He was a Conservative member of Avon County Council from 1989 to 1993 and a member of the General Council of the Bar from 1989-1994. Master Hamilton was elected a Governing Bencher of the Inn in 1989.

A funeral service will be held at 12noon on Thursday 14 October at Compton Martin St Michael Church, The Batch, Compton Martin, Somerset, BS40 6JB. All are welcome to attend.
